Reality Check
This story was brushed over by few TV stations but was ridiculed by all the "talking heads".
The Chicago Tribune reported that the US authorities in Guantanamo Bay Cuba have cracked a detainee into giving them details on a planned attack at the Athens Olympics. This attack was then thwarted by a coalition of international agencies lead by the US.
They first called the newspaper that it was published in as "small and unimportant". The Chicago Tribune is neither small nor unimportant and has a long and illustrious history in the world of REAL journalism. They also said that it was impossible for the terrorists detained in Gitmo to know about a plot since they were in jail for the past two and a half years. Any idiot with half a brain knows that the mass-murderers of 9/11 were planning that attack for over 5 years. The TV news anchors/reporters only reported on ONE motive as to the reason Al Qaeda would want to hit Greece. The anchors stated that the Arab world was upset that the 100,000 reported Muslims living in Athens did not have at least ONE Mosque to pray in.
(Truth be told, they are forced to use dirty, damp and insect infested basements to pray... why would they be mad?)
As usual, their amnesia about the atrocities committed in Kosovo continued. They purposefully omitted the main reason that Al Qaeda would like to hit Greece: Srebrenica. At least one hundred Greek volunteers aided in the Genocide of Muslims in the Kosovo village in 1995 where 7,000+ men were slaughtered. These "men" were ranging in ages from 9 to 71 (a fact confirmed by forensics experts while unearthing of the mass graves). These demented Greek "volunteers" even raised the Greek flag and took celebratory pictures of themselves standing among the dead bodies. Also, the fact that the Greek people were one of the very few (but loudest) supporters of the butcher Serbs may have ticked off Bin Laden. I guess genocide is acceptable as long as the culprits are the same religion as you. Great reason to support the slaughter of women, children and old men.
Being a target of Al Qaeda because of your involvement in Genocide against Muslims is kind of an important fact to report, don't you think?

SideBar I: Al Qaeda started planning 9/11 soon after the US stopped the butcher Milosevic from slaughtering any more Muslims. Some Greeks had a hand in Srebrenica (the worst atrocities of that war) and the country went to the street to protest the US attempts to stop the killing of Muslims. AND NOW the Greek people don't realize that they are the target of Al Qaeda!?!?!?
SideBar II: Bin Laden himself threatened (Saddam's buddies) France of a "Madrid style blood bath" if they did not withdraw the law that forbade the wearing of headscarves in public schools in France. This whole outrage has to do with about 5,000 girls. Being a hyper-misogynist, one must ask this question: Why would Bin Laden HIMSELF make threats over 5,000 girls and not make a threat against a country that will not allow 100,000 MEN to have their own Mosque?
